[Product Review & Giveaway] Anti Ox Snack Bars & Chocolate

NOTE: I was provided these Vitality Brands AntiOx snack bars and chocolates as part of a Product Talk by Nuffnang. I was not monetarily compensated for this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You may be familar with Vitality Brands as I reviewed their Well Naturally chocolate bars a few months ago.

This time around I am sampling their AntiOx range which consists of three snack bars and two flavours of chocolate. You know me, chocolate is always calling my name, so I jumped at the chance to taste test these new to me products.

Why is it called AntiOx? Because of the superfoods used in their chocolates (acai and goji, two fruits high in vitamins and antioxidants), each 14g suggested serve contains the antioxidant equivalent of two cups of green tea.

If green tea isn't your cup of tea (pardon the pun), a few pieces of this chocolate may be more suited to your liking. And with winter here, an added boost to our immunity is much needed.

The chocolate blocks come in two flavours: acai and goji.

After trying the bars and chocolate, I now have a love affair with acai. For most of us it is one of those too expensive health foods products due to it being one of the most antioxidant rich fruits in the worls. It's nice to have a product like AntiOx and be able to enjoy acai at a far more reasonable price.

When it came time to try the goji bar and chocolate I was a little sceptical. As much as I've tried to love goji berries, I just never liked them...well, until I tried AntiOx. I'm officially sold on them now.
See, chocolate really does make everything (mostly) taste better!

The acai and goji pieces in the chocolate give that added bit of flavour and texture which is often missing from sugar free chocolates.

Currently there are three flavours of snack bars: goji, acai, and chia/quinoa.

The chia and quinoa snack bar reminds me of a cherry ripe crossed with a muesli bar I used to eat as a kid. It is the rolled oats and wholegrain wheat puffs which give these bars their deliciously chewy texture.

Unlike their muesli bar counterparts, these snack bars have the added benefits of omega-3 rich chia seeds, a complete protein in the form of quinoa, and the aforementioned goji and acai.

The dark chocolate coating of the bars is made of (again, antioxidant-rich) 70% cocoa and is sugar free (sweetened with stevia), however the filling is unfortunately not.  The purees and juices of fruits such as pomegranate, berries and pear give much of the natural sugars.

I try to avoid added sugar in processed products, but if that's not something you worry about, it is quite minimal.
