Almond Breeze has quickly become a favourite with the vegan community and non-dairy consumers. In just over a year the range has expanded to include the Original, Unsweetened and Chocolate varieties.

The new addition to the Australian Almond Breeze family is Unsweetened Vanilla.

There's no denying that almond milk doesn't taste quite like cows milk and is somewhat of an acquired taste, however don't be put off trying it. Personally, I love almond milk as almonds happen to be one of my favourite nuts.

If you're new to almond milk or trying to persuade your kids to try it, then Unsweetened Vanilla is the solution. There's still the benefit of it being sugar free, but with that creamy hint of vanilla which instantly hits your taste buds.

Almond milk can replace normal milk in any recipe, drastically reducing the amount of calories and helping you to reduce your dairy intake.

If you search almond milk or Almond Breeze in the search box to the right you'll see that I've used almond milk in the past to make everything from smoothies, cocktails, popsicles and baked goods.

Original Unsweetened will always have a place in my savoury cooking, however Unsweetened Vanilla is my new go-to for all things sweet.

Unsweetened Vanilla almond milk is deliciously smooth and creamy on its own or use it in some of my favourite recipes:

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies with Vanilla Cream Cheese Filling

Vanilla Coconut Protein Smoothie

Vanilla Toffee Popsicles

If you don't have a daruma doll to give you luck finding Unsweetened Vanilla, don't you worry. The new flavour will be rolling out in most Coles supermarkets over the next few weeks. As always, don't be afraid to ask your local store to stock it.

What's next on the cards for Almond Breeze? If the US is anything to go by, perhaps Unsweetened Chocolate or the Almond & Coconut milk blends.

Keep up to date on all Australian Almond Breeze news on their Facebook page or Twitter account.
