If you've purused the health food aisle at your local supermarket you may have seen those sesame seed snacks. They're meant to be healthy, however upon reading the ingredient list you'll see that they contain added sugars; not so healthy after all. These aren't quite the same as they don't contain sesame seeds, but they remind me of the texture. If you make these at home, feel free to add sesame seeds so they resemble the original. Ingredients 25g Pureharvest Rice Malt Syrup 10g Unsweetened Coconut Flakes 10g Shelled Hemp Seeds 10g Chia Seeds Directions Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl Zap the rice malt syrup in the microwave for 15-20 seconds, or until runny Pour over the coconut and seeds, stirring well so the syrup covers it all Press equal amounts of the mixture into round silicone moulds or paper cupcake liners Place in the fridge to cool and firm up (around 30 minutes) Makes 6 Macros per serve 46 calories 1.3g protein 2.8g fat 4.7g carbs 2g sugar 1g fibre via Stacie Michelle http://stacie-michelle.blogspot.com/2013/09/coconut-seed-bites.html | |||
