Stewed Apple & Cinnamon Smoothie

Apple and cinnamon is a flavour combination which I've experimented with quite often on the blog. There's recipes for Apple Cinnamon Upside Down Muffins, Cranberry Apple & Cinnamon Popsicles, Apple Cinnamon & Macadamia Loaf, Cinnamon Apple Pancakes, and my Cinnamon Apple & Nut Winter Warmer Breakfast

Needless to say, they're a match made in heaven.

This time around the apple and cinnamon flavour is something which I tried to recreate with this smoothie.

The crisp and juicy texture of raw apples has its place in my heart, but stewed apples really bring out the natural sweetness of the fruit. This smoothie would not be the same if not for the use of cooked apples.

Grab yourself a bag of apples this weekend and bake the weekend away, and keep the doctor the away in the process!

Ingredients

2/3 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze
100g Chobani 0% Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Granny Smith Apple
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Directions

Peel the apple, slice thinly and cook in the microwave for 2-3 minutes until soft
Allow to cool a little before adding to a blender with all of the other ingredients
Pulse until smooth and creamy

Makes 1 serve
