Following on from my Election Night Cocktail post, I've decided to make low calorie cocktails a new, weekly feature. When I first tried gin in Hong Kong some years ago, it was love at first sip! Comparing it to vodka, gin was sweeter, not as harsh on my palette (or my throat) and had an almost herbal taste to it. From then on it has been one of my go-to spirits, and now has birthed Thank Gin It's Friday. Each week I'll bring you a new drink recipe, with many featuring gin, however not exclusively. If you are going to enjoy a cocktail or two to wind-down or celebrate on the weekend, I want to show you how you can make lower calorie cocktails, with no added sugars unlike those sinful pre-made drinks. There will be the usual suspects, the cocktails you know and love, along with some of my own creations. This week's cocktail steals from my new favourite drink: my Low Calorie Spring slushie recipe. Ingredients 3 Cup Soda Water 32 Drops of NOW Foods Better Stevia Pomegranate Blueberry Liquid Stevia 1 Cup Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice Ice Cubes or Crushed Iced Directions Mix the soda water, liquid stevia and juice in a jug Pour over ice and share with your loved ones Makes 4 serves Macros per serve 92 calories 0g protein 0g fat 5g carbs 5g sugar 0g fibre Check back every Friday for a new recipe in my Thank Gin It's Friday series. via Stacie Michelle http://stacie-michelle.blogspot.com/2013/09/tgif-thank-gin-its-friday-1.html | |||
